Byzantine Altar Cross with Corpus
9th-10th century AD
A bronze processional cross, equal-armed with roundels to the end of each arm; to the centre a figure with robes and nimbus to back of head, arms stretched out in orans praying position; to each large roundel the bust of a saint with nimbus and robes. 105 grams, 12cm (4 3/4"). Very fine condition, tine absent.
