Early Zionism - Stencilled Lertter by Shef"er [1883], recommendation letter to Yehiel Brill [1884].

2 letters addressed to Rabbi Leib Klivansky of Kovna.
A circular letter written by Shef"er with a handwritten note to the rabbi on it. The circular deals with the "Hoveve Zion" organisation and its unification with "sheerit Israel", mentoions Rabbi Yaakov Arye Salvendiand apparently calls for the unification of all regional Zionist movements into a national one. In the handwritten note Shef"er mentions rabbi Yaakov Lifshitz.
The second letter was sent in 1884 by Shmuel Yosef Finn, Maskil author, and was sent to Rabbi Klivanski by hand of Yehiel Brill. In it Finn urges Klivanski to help Brill. Also mentoined are: Aryeh Leib Frumkin, and other Rabbis, and his book "Yesod Ha-Maala".
