Three broadside calling Jews to enlist in the Jewish Brigade and the Jewish Guard Brigade. Palestine, 1940s.
1. "To Hebrew Youth!" (Hebrew). A poster issued by the "Center for the Enlistment of the Yishuv, the Central Committee for the Enlistment of Youth". Co-Op press. "Achdut", Tel-Aviv.
A poster calling Hebrew youth "to present themselves immediately in the recruiting office of the Jewish Agency and enlist in the Jewish Brigade, the Jewish Guard Brigade, labor and training camps. Let no man remain who is not doing his duty" (Hebrew).
2. "To Hebrew Youth!" (Hebrew). A poster issued by the "The Jewish Volunteer", calling to enlist in the Jewish Brigade. Tel-Aviv: "Avodah" press, Nissan 1945. On the upper part of the broadside appears the emblem of the Jewish Brigade.
3. "To the Yishuv, to the complete Diaspora!" Poster issued by the Jewish Agency, the Jewish National Council, calling to volunteer to the Jewish Brigade. Tel-Aviv: "Avodah" printing press, Nissan [1945].
On the upper part of the broadside, the emblem of the Jewish Brigade and "The announcement of General Clark, the commanding officer of the Allies in Italy": "We are delighted to have a Jewish Brigade cooperating with our military forces in the Italian front". Following is an appeal to the Palestinian public: "Today, for the first time in the history of the war, an official announcement around the world declared the entrance to the battlefront of a fighting Jewish force, assembled in one national brigade, bearing the explicit name of the Jewish nation and raising the flag of Zion… may masses of volunteers come immediately to fill the lines of the fighting Jewish Brigade in the victorious battle!".
