Three Pennants - Zionist Youth Movements / She'erit HaPleita
1. "Macabi HaTza'ir Piešťany" pennant. Slovakia, ca.1930. Rectangular pennant made of blue and white cloth with a white lining. Inscribed with a golden thread embroidery: "Macabi HaTza'ir Piešťany". Ends with a rope for tying. "Macabi HaTza'ir" movement was founded in Slovakia in 1929, as an athletic Zionist-national movement. 73X15.5 cm. Good-fair condition, spots and holes.
2. "Gordonia" youth movement pennant, inscribed: "Udim" and "Hagshem". [Poland,1947]. It is possible that this pennant was made in cooperation with "Macabi HaTza'ir", probably in Poland, after the holocaust. A blue-white pennant, on one side "Udim" and a Star of David and on the reverse - Fleur-de-lis within a sickle and the word "Hagshem" below it. Along the borders is a golden thread with a fringe. 57X84 cm, good-fair condition, spots, worn and unraveled at the borders.
3. “Sh’lom Israel Yihiye Matratcha” pennant, June 1938. A silk pennant, two strips of white silk in different shades are sewn to each other and above them an embroidered inscription in white and blue threads (the upper part of the letters in white and the lower part is blue). On the lower left part an embroidered inscription: “Juni 19. 1938. A.T.” in Hebrew and German. White ropes on top for tying. Ends with white fringes. 83 cm, good-fair condition, creases, minor holes, unraveled thread at the borders.
