Avraham Moshe Lunz (1854-1918), Eretz Israeli author, publisher, journalist and scholar, born in Kovno. Founder of the first public library in Jerusalem and the Jewish Institute for the Blind (he himself lost his sight in his twenties). Lunz published many articles dealing with the history of Eretz Israel and founded a printing press in Jerusalem. After publishing an anthology of national poems titled "Kinor David" he was accused of encouraging revolt, was jailed by the Ottoman Regime, and his printing press was closed.
