Remarkable photo-album from the years around 1938, portraying "Tower and Stockade" settlements and some other settlements: Hanita and the vicinity and Haim Weizmann's visit there, Settling in Khirbet Samak (Kibbutz Eilon), a tower in Massada, Kibbutz Ma'ale HaHamishaa corner-stone scroll, constructing fences in the north, agricultural work and Jewish guards in the north; the settlements Mishmar HaEmek, Genigar, Ein Harod, Afikim, Kefar Baruch, Yagur, Yessod HaMa'ala, Kefar Tavor, Tel-Amal, Kefar HaMaccabi and other settlements; photographs from journeys under the title "this is the way we toured the country before 1936"; etc. Seven impressive photographs are included in the album annotated in pencil and signed by the photographer "A. Bauer".
Photographs by Ephraim Moshe Lilien are also included in this album (at least 17 photographs were certainly identified as original photographs taken by Lilien and they appear in the catalogue ""Paint in light, the photographic aspect of Lielien's work, published by the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art, 1990). Lilien's photographs are accompanied by serial numbers of his works as they appear in the mentioned catalogue. Amongst them: photographs of a Yemenite Talmud Torah, present day "Shuvi Nafshi" Yeshivah, Tarmav Street, Nahalt Zvi, Mea She'arim, Jerusalem: five figures in "Yemenite Talmud Torah" (Lilien no. 177), 1906; two Elderly Study Torah (Lilien no. 177), 1906; A Yemenite Jew (Rabbi David HaCohen, Lilien no. 114), 1906; the Priest of the Samaritan Congregation, Ya'akov Ben-Aharon and his son Uzi (Lilien no. 195), 1906-1914; Two Bukhari Girls (Lilien No. 199), 1906; an old Bukhari Jew (Lilien no. 109), 1906-1914; and more. Total of 137 photographs pasted to the album leaves. General condition is good. Size varies, 8.5X6 cm to 13X18 cm.
