A speech and an "open letter" by Dr. Ludwig Philippson, PhD (1811-1889), a Rabbi, editor and author. Creator of a very influential Jewish weekly. Translated the Bible into German and published poems, stories, plays and religious and social essays.
1. A las Cortes constituyentes de la nacioּn Espanola. Berlin, [1854]. Spanish. An open letter to the Spanish Cortes to revoke the Edict of Expulsion of Jews of 1492 and readmit the Jews into Spain. [8] pp, 27.5 cm. Good condition. Sheet not cut. Creases at borders.
2. Speech about the miserable situation of the Turkish Jews in general and the Jews of Constantinople in particular, including juveniles who experience a very low level of Jewish culture and education and poor religious services. Magdeburg, May 1, 1854. German. [4] pp, 27.5 cm. Good condition.
