Chizuk Emunah, the Only Karaite Book Accepted among the Jewish People. [Jerusalem], 1845
Chizuk Emunah - polemic work opposing Christianity by Yitzchak bar Avraham of Troki. Printed at Bek Press, Jerusalem, without indication of place of printing.
The author was a Karaite scholar, and this is the only (!) Karaite book that was accepted in the Jewish diaspora. The book was printed in Jerusalem during the period in which the Christian mission began to operate in the Land of Israel under the name "London Society for Promoting Christianity Among the Jews." For obvious reasons, the place of print and name of printer were not indicated. According to tradition, Sir Moshe Montefiore initiated and financed printing this book. (Sh. HaLevi, Sifrei Yerushalayim HaRishonim 28.)
[28], 100 leaves, 14.5 cm. Fine condition. Minimal worming perforations in the margins without damage to text. Several leaves are partially detached.
