Megillat Esther in a Bezalel-Style Olive Wood Case. Jerusalem, 20th Century
"HaMelech" scroll of Esther, ink on parchment. Beautiful scribal writing in Vellish script.
Placed in a carved olive wood case inscribed [in Hebrew] with the words "Western Wall," "Rachel's Tomb," "Jerusalem" and decorated with two rows of color decorations.
The scroll: 5 sheets. 29 columns. 14 lines. Parchment width: 12.8 cm.
Wooden case: 8x21.5 cm, including the wooden handles, 40 cm.
Very fine condition. Partial loosening of stitches in one of the sheets.
