Drafts and writings of letters sent by Amsterdam community heads to various public figures. 1790-1794.
Letter to Rabbi Aryeh Leib Av-Beit-Din Rotterdam about saving the Lissa community, about matchmaking and regarding Kosher cheese. [The Ga'on Rabbi Shaul of Amsterdam died in 1790]. In other letters to Rabbi Aryeh Leib and other communities there are warnings against a cheese merchant who forged a Kashrut certificate.
Interesting letter to "Dear son the groom…Ya'akov Yisrael Shai" about "the inheritance of your father...". [Rabbi Ya'akov is the son of Rabbi Leibush of Amsterdam who died while his father Rabbi Shaul was still alive. Later Rabbi Ya'akov Lowenstahm served as rabbi in Tiktin, see enclosed material].
