Beautiful Manuscript – Passover Haggadah and the Song of Songs – Baghdad, the 19th Century
The manuscript contains Seder Pesach, Passover Haggadah, the Song of Songs. Each and every passage is translated into Judeo-Arabic, with the Hebrew passage in square script and the Arabic one in oriental script. Baghdad, the 19th century. Scribal script, nice and orderly. Impressive manuscript!
At the beginning of the manuscript:
בהנ"ו עמ"י עש"ו בנל"כ ואע"י לק"י לס"י פציחות"ם זה"ל צי"ב קרוב"ץ בס"ד בס"ט [בעזרת השם נעשה ונצליח עזרי מעם ה' עושה שמים וארץ ברוך נותן ליעף כח ולאין אונים עצמה ירבה לישועתך קיוותי ה' לפורקנך סברית ה' פי צדיק יהגה חכמה ולשונות תדבר משפט זה השער לה' צדיקים יביאו בו קול רינה וישועה באהלי צדיקים בסיעתא דשמיא בסימן טוב] הריני מתחיל לכתוב הגדה של פסח לשון ושרח בסייעתא דשמייא ובעזרת האל שאזכה לקרות בה אני וזרעי וזרע זרעי כדכתיב לא ימושו מפיך ומפי זרעך ומפי זרע זרעך אמר ה' מעתה ועד עולם אכי"ר".

[45] leaves written on both their sides and several additional blank leaves. 14cm. Good condition. Restoration to the inner margins of the first leaf. Original binding with leather spine and Baghdad-style marble paper cover.
