Chok L'Yisrael – the Copy of the Rebbe Rabbi Massud Ben Rabbi Ya'akov Abuhatzeira the Father of the "Baba Sali" which was Given as a Present to the Philanthropist Rabbi Makhluf Nizri of Erfoud

Before us is the Chok L'Yisrael which was owned by Rabbi Massud Abuhatzeira, the son of Rabbi Ya'akov Abuhatzeira and the father of the "Baba Sali". On the volume of Bamidbar, a handwritten testimony by Rabbi Yitzchak Nizri that these books of Chok L'Yisrael were given as a gift to his father Rabbi Makhluf Nizri of Erfoud by the Rebbe Rabbi Massud Abuhatzeira.

Rabbi Yitzchak Nizri – the son of the philanthropist Rabbi Makhluf Nizri was born in Erfoud, Morocco. He was a Shochet and Bodek, Mohel, Melamed and Darshan in Morocco and later in Lod, Israel. There was a great friendship between the rabbis of the Abuhatzeira family and the Nizri family, as indicated by the letters of recommendation they had received, which praise Rabbi Yitzchak Nizri and his father Rabbi Makhluf.

The Rebbe Rabbi Massud Abuhatzeira the son of Rabbi ya'akov Abuhatzeira the "Abir Ya'akov" and the father of the "Baba Sali". A holy genius and admired leader, who took care of the poor at his own expense. After his father's death, he replaced him as the rabbi of Tafilalt, Morocco.
