Letter Handwritten and Signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Meir Abuhatzeira – Erfoud, 1950
A special letter handwritten and signed by the Rebbe Rabbi Meir Abuhatzeira, the "Baba Meir". Poetic language and nice rhymes. From the time he was Rosh Av Beit Din of Erfoud. 13 lines handwritten by him.
The letter was written to his friend Rabbi Moshe Atiyah Rosh Av Beit Din of Midelt, Morocco, praising him and thanking him for the letter he had sent to Rabbi Meir. After his signature, Rabbi Meir added an additional line, sending his regards to his beloved Rabbi Yosef Hacohen and his father.
Rabbi Meir Abuhatzeira, the "Baba Meir", the eldest son of the Rebbe Rabbi Yisrael Abuhatzeira, the "Baba Sali". A genius, kabbalist and holy man. A miracle-worker. After his father immigrated to Isreal, he replaced him as the rabbi and Rosh Av Beit Din of Erfoud. He died in 1983 during his father's lifetime after great suffering.
The receiver of the letter, Rabbi Moshe Atiyah, (1910-1990) served as Rosh Av Beit Din of Midelt, Morocco/ the son-in-law and disciple of Rabbi Shlomo Amsalem. In his old age he immigrated to Israel and served as the rabbi of Kiryat Gat.
