Letter of Torah Novellae handwritten by Rabbi Asher Anschil Jungreis Av Beit Din of Tshanger.
The letter was written in Tshanger and was sent in response to a letter by one of his friends.
A leaf written on both its sides.
The letter contains erasures and additions.
A unique item! To the best of our knowledge, Novellae handwritten by Rabbi Jungreis have never been seen in auctions!
His biography
Rabbi Asher Anschil Halevi Jungreis (1806-1873) was known as a miracle-worker. Served as head of yeshiva and was one of the leading Poskim of Hungary. The rabbi of Tshanger for forty years.
He was the leading disciple of Rabbi Ya'akov Kopel Altenkunshtadt and studied at his yeshiva for nine years, during which he used fast from Saturday night to Tuesday night.
He was well known as a Tzaddik who could cure the sick by his prayers and holiness. The most prominent Rebbes admired him and used to sent people who needed salvation to receive his blessing.
On the fifth of Kislev 1873, while studying the Talmud with his disciples, he reached Ma'amar Chazal "When Moses ascended to Heaven" (Shabbat tractate, 88:b) he suddenly said Kri'at Shema" and passed away!
Good condition. A stain on the leaf.
