Mictivei HaRav Chofetz Chaim. First Edition. Warsaw 1938. Rare.
Fascinating biography of the Chofetz Chaim, including transcripts of letters, derashos and other intriguing information by his son R. Aryeh Leib Ha’Cohen Pupko (1860-1938).
Although the title page states that this sefer was published in 1937, at the end of the work there is a notice of the passing of the author R. Aryeh Leib Ha’Cohen, Av Beis Din of Radin and Nasi of the Yeshiva, who was Niftar on the 23rd of Kisleiv 1938 in Warsaw. Although much has been written about the Chofetz Chaim, this work is unique as it offers the perspective of his eldest son, who was the “right hand” of the Chofetz Chaim assisting him in many of his myriad activities including the writing of his seforim.
Includes a photo of the Chofetz Chaim with his son at the end of the sefer. Below the picture it says that it was taken in 1932, when the Chofetz Chaim was 94.
