For hundreds of years, persecution and difficult living conditions, coupled with quasi Talmudic logic, often cultivated a wry and sometimes satirical sense of humor. Frequently these publications reflect the times during which they were written, with cryptic references to current events. This particular sefer provides a glimpse of the terrible economic conditions in Eastern Europe as well as various common business practices of that era.
