R. Sholom Moskovitch/ Shotzer Rebbe. London
Autograph letter by R. Sholom Moskovitch, the Shotzer Rebbe of London.
R. Sholom Moskovitch of Shotz (1877-1958), was a scion of R. Michel of Zlotchov and R. Meir of Premishlan. Known as a tremendous Talmid Chochom he received Semicha from R. Sholom Mordechai Schwadron of Berzhan (Da’as Torah). He was a Chossid of the Rebbes of Shinniva and Belz who held him in great esteem. He served as Rov in Shotz and R. Meir Schapiro was among his talmidim. In 1929, he immigrated to London where he was greatly revered. Known as a great Tzaddik, many flocked to him for brochos. He wrote in his Tzava’h that anyone could come to his Kever and daven in his merit, as long as they undertake to better themselves in at least one way. Indeed his Kever in London is a well-known place of prayer, visited by people from across the world, with many wondrous stories of Yeshuos reported.
