SWISS HOLBEIN DAGGER IN GILT SILVER MOUNTS, 1750

Gilt silver hilt and mounted scabbard, wood hilt, Damascus blade marked with stamped "X." Scabbard mounts in pierced designs with a red velvet cloth underneath, it depicts a knights fighting scene with spears, swords, and on horseback, reverse is decorated with engraved interwoven laces, scabbard tip stylized as a mythical head. All scabbard mounts are gilt silver. Small knife and fork utensils in the scabbard. CA. 1750
