The collection of works by Sergei Nikitin includes stories: "One summer", "old Men", "Lidochka", "the Story of the first love", etc.

The heroes of the stories are simple Russian people, but with a rich inner world. These are fishermen, agronomists, watchmen, carpenters, foremen, foresters, shepherds. Such as: blacksmith Fyodor ("Obrok"), ensign Ladygin ("watercolor drawing"), Forester Kandybin ("my friend the Goblin"), carpenter Matthew ("Beautiful"), etc.



Sergei Konstantinovich Nikitin (1926-1973) was a Russian writer. He was born in Kovrov in the family of an employee. He studied at Kovrov secondary school No. 14, then at the railway College. In 1944 he went to Moscow. In 1944-1947 he studied at MGIMO, then transferred to the correspondence Department of the Literary Institute, from which he graduated in 1952.

Since 1948 he worked as a journalist in the Kovrov district newspaper "working cry". In 1951 he moved to Vladimir and began to work in the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Iskra"; in 1952 he began to write for the magazine "Ogonyok". He published his first short story "One summer" in 1950. In 1952, the regional publishing house published the first collection of Nikitin's stories edited by E. Kazakevich. Since 1956 - member of the CPSU. He was Secretary of the Vladimir branch of the Union of writers of the USSR. S. K. Nikitin is buried in the cemetery "Baygush" near Vladimir. Streets in Vladimir and Kovrov are named after Nikitin. In 2011, the prize in the field of literature named after Sergei Nikitin was established in the Vladimir region. In Kovrov the house (Barsukov St., 5) where he spent the childhood and youth (1926-1944) and lived in Mature years (1948-1951) remained.
