RABBI CHAIM TZVI EHRENREICH (1875-1937), RABBI OF MAD, HUNGARY – MANUSCRIPT TESHUVA (RESPONSUM), ADDRESSED TO HIS SON-IN-LAW, RABBI DOV SPITZER OF KLEINWARDEIN.

Interesting halachic discussion, revealing impressive mastery of many Torah sources, as to whether if no Cohen is present during the Torah reading, a Levi should be called up to the Torah in his place.

Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Ehrenreich, son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Schwartz, author of Kol Aryeh. Learnt Torah under his uncle Rabbi Eliezer Zucker of Beregsasz, Rabbi Shmuel Gintzler of Vishovo, Rabbi Shaul Ehrenfeld of Siks, Rabbi Chananya Yomtov Lippa Teitelbaum of Sighet, the Darkei Teshuva of Munkacz, and especially from his older brother Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, Rabbi of Somlyo. Son-in-law of (his uncle) Rabbi Naftali Schwartz, Rabbi of Mad, Hungary, whom he eventually succeeded as Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva. Author of Ketzei Hamateh, the classic commentary to Matteh Efrayim.

2 sides. 15x23.5 cm. Excellent condition.
