36,5х28,5 cm. In the gift whole- leather binding of the time and in the publishing case. Goldleaf
embossed spine and thin frame on the top lid. Ribbed edges. Ornamental gilt paper
flyleaves. Slight fading of binding and case, a crack along the spine at the beginning of the
block, foxings, 1 p. il. detached from the block. A label on the flyleaf ‘Print-lithography of G.
A. Petrazhitsky, Yaroslavl’.
The author’s gift inscription, addressed to his wife, at the top of the title page: ‘To my dear wife and friend Alexandra Dmitrievna Gryaznova for a good memory from her loving husband A. Gryaznov, 23th December’. In the lower part - the inscription of the wife of A. F. Gryaznov,
addressed to his son: ‘To you, dear Mityusha, I hand for memory this gift of Your father, so dear to my heart. Deeply loving you mother A. Gryaznova. June 12, 1931. Julianov. There are photos of A.F. Gryaznov and his wife respectively glued up next to the autographs.
Gryaznov Alexey Flegontovich (1868-1960) - the Manager of the Yaroslavl Big Manufactory from 1898 to 1918. In his activity Gryaznov endeavoured at creating satisfied conditions of work and life for his workers on the one hand, and on the other - he used a comprehensive system of penalties for violations of labor discipline.
At the world exhibition in Paris in 1900, the comradeship YABM was awarded two Grand Prix, and Gryaznov as a participant
n the exhibition and Director of the factory was awarded three medals: a Large silver and three bronze. Mainly due to his efforts, by the beginning of the World War I YABM was the largest production unit in the province and was among the most significant and highly profitable enterprises in Russia.
