Narbut Egor (Georgy) Ivanovich (1886-1920) - artist, draughtsman and Illustrator,
organizer of the higher graphic education in Ukraine. Disciple of M. V. Dobuzhinsky,
German masters in Munich, I. Y. Bilibin. In 1913 he became a member of the ‘World
of art’. The artist’s works are distinguished by an impeccable sense of style and deliberately
dry ‘graphics’. He had made a lot of illustrations for children’s books of ed.
Knebel, covers, title pages and book decorations for magazines ‘Apollon’, «Russian
Icon», publishing house ‘Shipovnik’ (Rosehip), etc.
