Pair of "Ohr HaChaim" Chumashim - Zhitomir, 1854. Rare, Early Edition.
Chumashim: Shemot and Devarim from Chamishah Chumshei Torah, with commentaries by Rash"i, Ba'al HaTurim, Targum Onkelos and Targum Yonatan Ben Uziel, the Chid"a's commentary on the haftarot and the meggilot, and the Ohr HaChaim commentary. Two volumes. Printed by Rabbis Chanina Lipa and Yehoshua Heschel Shapira, Zhitomir.
Before us is a rare edition of the chumashim with the Ohr HaChaim's and the Chid"a's commentaries, which was printed in Zhitomir (the more common edition is from 1860).
Shemot: [1], 178, 16, 10 leaves. With meggilat Esther, Targum Sheni and the shacharit prayers for Shabbat in nusach Sephard (lacking "Yotzrot" at the end). Two title pages, the first of which is in red and black ink. 25 cm; moderate-fine condition. Aging stains. Tears in the margins of the title page without damage to text. Tear with lack in the margins of leaf 1a. Detached binding and title page.
Devarim: 148 leaves. With megillat Eichah and megillat Kohelet. Two title pages at the beginning, the first of which is in red and black ink (without the part with the prayers at the end). 25 cm; fine condition. Aging stains.ֲ
