Ze'enah U'Re'enah, Amsterdam, 1766
Rabbi Yaakov ben Yitzchak of Janow (1560-1623) wrote Ze'enah U'Re'enah on the weekly Torah portion, the five megillot and the haftarot in Yiddish, mainly for women who were not proficient in Hebrew.
The edition before us was published in Amsterdam in 1766 (indicated in the gematria of a verse from Shir HaShirim, cited on the title page).
An important addition that distinguished this publication from previous editions is the inclusion of the Shabbat prayer service.
