Dan Yadin, with Sefer Karnayim commentary by Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropol. Amsterdam, 1765. Signature of Rabbi Chaim Berlin.
Dan Yadin and its commentary, Sefer Karnayim, are considered marvelous and profound compositions. This book is from the second edition, in which the printer excerpted from the book by Rabbi Menachem Azaria of Fano, and a collection of the teachings of Rabbi Shimshon of Ostropol. On the title page is a depiction of a lion, which is the symbol of the printer, Yehuda Leib Zussmans.
This book is also bound with a guide book by Rabbi Aharon the son of Rabbi Avraham, a renowned orator in the communities of Ravitch. Breslau, 1730.
The title pages of the books have various stamps: Rabbi Chaim Berlin and two from the Yeshivat Etz Chaim.
Rabbi Chaim Berlin (1832-1913) was the son of Rabbi Naftali Zvi Yehuda Berlin, the Netzi"v. Rabbi Chaim served as a rabbi in Moscow, Volozhin and Kobryn, and in his final years, in Jerusalem.
