Kehilot Yaakov, Lemberg, 1870, by the Gaon Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Yalish, author of Maleh HaRo’im, with glosses by the Gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Yaakov Kopel Landman, the Admo"r of Kitov
The holy Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Koppel Landman (c.1844-1919) was the son of our rabbi and teacher Zvi Hirsch Landman. Rabbi Yaakov received semicha from the Gaon, author of Michat Chinuch. In 1899 Rabbi Yaakov published Heishiv Lev Av on tractate Avot, and in his preface to that book expressed his heart’s desire – to publish all the ideas locked inside his head. Foremost of these was Beit Yaakov Kabbalist teachings based on the order of the alphabet.
This copy of Kehilat Yaakov, the well-known book by the Kabbalist Gaon, author of Maleh HaRo’im, a student of the Seer of Lublin, is adorned with the glosses of Rabbi Yaakov Koppel, and are a full composition in and of themselves, and seem to be the foundation for Beit Yaaov.
