Anna Frank 1929-1945 was born in Frankfurt. After the Nazis came to power, her family moved to the Netherlands. As the local Jewish population was being persecuted by the Nazis, the Frank family hid on the top floor of the building in Amsterdam where the family's father worked. The entrance to the hiding room was behind a bookcase rotating on a pivot. In 1944, the hide was exposed and the Frank family was transferred to the Westerbork transit camp. After a month they were transferred to the Auschwitz extermination camp. Later, Anna and her sister were transferred to Bergen Belsen concentration camp, where they died of some type of elucidation. While in hiding, Anna wrote a journal documenting her life and the rest of the hiding place accurately. The diary was found by the owner of the building where they hid and was given to the father the only member of the family who survived the Holocaust. When it was first published as a book, in 1947, Anne Frank's diary struck waves in the hearts of readers all over the world. The book has been translated into over 70 languages and published in over 60 countries, the journal Anne Frank is an international bestseller who has maintained his status for years.
