Letter about saving lives during the days of WWII, by the holy Gaon of Szerdahely Rabbi Asher Anshel Katz, requesting for his son-in-law Rabbi Yechiel David Zaltzer who also wrote on the other side of the page.

The letter was signed with the holy and rare blessing: 'להושע בכל מיני ישועות בזה ובבא למלאות משאלות לבו לטובה'... 
24 rows all personally hand written, signed with his personal stamp and holy hand signature.

Hgh"k Rabbi Asher Anshil Kat"z of Serdeheli [1880-1934]. Was from the great Rabbanim of Hungary before the Holocaust, Rosh Yeshiva for thousands, Rav in the holy community of Nyírmada, and later Rav of 'Adat Yisrael' in Dunajská Streda which is Serdeheli (Dunaszerdahely).
From revered disciples of Hgh"k Rabbi Moshe Greenwald of Chust (the 'Arugat Habosem'), then he married the daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, the Shimloyer Rav, there in Shimlo (Șimleu Silvaniei) he became Dayan and Rosh Yeshiva.
Hundreds of youths learned in the Yeshiva he established later in Serdeheli which was from the greatest and most prominent in Hungary.
His grandchildren that survived the Holocaust, are the Great Rabbanim Vien'er Rav in Wiliamsburg and the Serdehely Rav in Brooklyn, New York.
