Anna Volchuk, 1980, painter and designer.

"At 16, I knew how to hold a drill, and since then I have been working with wood all the time: building furniture and boxes, carving and more.
Looking superficially, Anna Welchuk looks like a strange, small, fragile fairy. The artist's creative roots that came to Israel at the age of ten are indeed deep in Russia, but as soon as she begins to speak, it turns out that seeing her eyes can definitely be deceiving.

"I don't define myself as a Russian artist," she explains, "I create here and I love to create here. "She knows very well what she is talking about: the plot of her troubled life - as well as the fact that she is remarried and the mother of an 18-year-old - can forget the fact that this is a 38-year-old girl altogether.
Anna found a new interest in life at 16 thanks to Stanislav Kirpishnikov - an artist and painting teacher who lived in her parents' building. "Since he was unemployed, he would come in a lot to talk to my mom about a glass of wine. I would scribble in notebooks, and he would just look and say, 'It's really bad, but I'm going to teach you.'

Since then, he has invested all my soul. I spent five hours with him a day. I moved really fast and I just started drawing lots. I was already 16 and a half and I didn't have to go back to school, so I studied with him for a year and a half. Stanislaw was a genius and he is very lacking today. There are many things I would still like to know, but I no longer have anyone to ask. "
