Hachil - Brigade Newspaper - First Announcement Sheet on Nazi Certificates shows the shocking number of killing 6 million Jews
'Hachil' - An issue of the Soldiers of the Jewish Brigade ["The Only Hebrew Newspaper in the Diaspora" as it says), dated 16/12/45. The first issue publish the shocking figure of 6 million Jews killed by Nazi forces.
Titled "Nazi Certificates for Killing 6 Million Jews", the paper first reveals what emerged in those days from the Nuremberg trials that "at least 6 million Jews were exterminated in Europe" according to Nazi documents filed with the Nuremberg Tribunal. The paper draws on 6 documents submitted by the category as part of the Nazi war criminals trial. At this point, the shocking figure is published as preliminary evidence revealed in the trial of Nazi documents. The newspaper added: "The category strives to prove that each of the Nazi leaders is personally responsible for extermination" and that "certificates were submitted confirming the assent of the defendants or indicating their signature of the killings orders." Seemingly marginal, the paper adds that 11 Belsen criminals who were sentenced to death were hanged on Friday morning.
