Letter by the Admor Rabbi Menashe Klein ['Menashe Hakatan']


A long letter in Torah words signed by Rabbi Menashe Klein ["The Little Menashe"]. The letter was sent to Rabbi Elyashiv and the Rebbe opens with extreme praise: "Greeting and peace to the Chief Rabbi ... The treasure of his name goes from the end of the world to the end, all of Raz no Anis Leia Posek HaDor Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv Shlit'a ... '. Letter printed with corrections and additions in the Admor's handwriting, signed by the hand signature of the Admor.


At the beginning of his letter, the Rebbe asks to discuss the answer of Rabbi Elyashiv replied to him about what was written in his book on various matters. In his letter, the Rebbe include a number of issues: The matter of 'Hachovel', the sons of Ketura for Milah, Non jewish who wants to circumcise himself for a Mitzvah, If belongs 'Tolesh' meloche in skin, and more.


Rebbe Menashe Klein [1923-2011] Rabbi of the Ungvar community and the head of the Beit Shearim Yeshiva in Brooklyn, and later in Israel. Thousands of his responsa in Halacha were printed in the book "Mishna Halachot". He was in contact with the Rebbe from Clausenburg, Rabbi Yekutiel Yehuda Halberstam, and established with him the "She'erit Ha-Pleita" institutions, which he conducted during the early years. In addition, he was in contact with the Staypler - Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky. In his responsa, the custom of Hungary Jewry was particularly evident.
