Letter from Aliza Begin - Menachem Begin's wife. June 1979

Letter written and signed by Aliza Begin, wife of the late Prime Minister Menachem Begin. June 10, 1979, about three years before her death. English.

In her letter, Ms. Begin asks for help from her friend Mr. Ramot who is involved in helping children.

Letters written by Eliza Begin [1920-1982] are rare as she usually did not Contact people by writing. Begin used to keep her privacy jealous and avoided being interviewed in the media. She even used public transport and avoided using a government vehicle. When she arrived with her husband Menachem Begin for a first visit to the United States, after being elected prime minister, she refused the embassy to finance the purchase of shirts for her husband, claiming: "By no means is the taxpayer going to fund my husband's shirts."

[1] leaf Ms. Begin's official paper. 22x15 cm. Filing holes. Very good condition.
