A two-sided advertising poster for the Mannishevich Bakery in Ohio, United States. Cape Town (South Africa). early 20th century.

Advertisement leaf with a 'Happy New Year' greeting from Manishevitz Matzah Bakery, Cincinnati Ohio [B. MANISCHEWITZ CO.]. English and Hebrew. In the center is a photograph of the bakery buildings alongside the municipal train. On the back is the proclamation of 'The World's Greatest Matzah Bakery' and an illustration that the whole earth is enveloped in a sound emanating from a microphone announcing the Manishwitz matzah that has all the virtues.

Manishevitz Bakery was one of the largest in the world during its time [as appears on the back of the poster: 'THE LARGEST AND MOST KOSHER MATZO BAKERS IN THE WORLD'] and also has a branch in Cape Town - South Africa. The company was founded in 1888 and became a public company in 1923. The leading food brand actually exists to this day, and is still considered the world's largest matza manufacturer, and one of America's largest kosher brands. Alongside the company, a special kashrut body was established called the "Manishevich Rabbi Member",headed by the Vice President of the United States and Canada Rabbis Association, Rabbi and Editor Haim Karlinsky.
