Certificate of participate in the Ancona lottery. Eretz Israel, 1930s

Purchase Certificate Number 12337 Giving its owners the right to participate in the lottery of Ancona, the Land of Israel. 1930s. 

On the back of the certificate the list of winnings: 'What can you win? With great fortune! Why not try your luck? 624 big winnings, one win costs 100000 francs ... It is every man's duty to save and invest some of his savings in these securities, by acquiring himself all the possibilities to win big winnings, and with that his savings carry no fear of loss".

Egyptian bonds called 'Credit Ponsier' were distributed in Jerusalem during the First World War. In total, 160,000 bonds worth 500 francs each were issued. These securities became a hit during the Mandate period due to the tightening of economic ties between Mandatory Palestine and Egypt after World War I. These bonds traded the renowned Jerusalem exchangers Julius Jungreis and Zwabner and others. The exchange office operated in the Old City on Bazaar Street. lottery were held once a month.
