Dr. Samson Rosenbaum [1860-1934] Jewish-Lithuanian statesman, one of the Zionist leaders in Minsk, the main organizer of the Minsk Conference, a member of the first State Duma of the Russian Empire (1906-1907), a member of the founding Syamas (1920-1922) and the second Syamas (1923 - 1925) of Lithuania, and Minister of Jewish Affairs of Lithuania. Member of the Grand Zionist General Council and Lithuanian Consul in Palestine, Attend all Zionist congresses from the beginning to 1914. Member of the Zionist General Council and from 'Zionist Zion' who strongly opposed the Uganda program. Organized by the Minsk Conference and the Helsingfors Conference, he was later elected a member of the Central Committee of the Zionist Movement in Russia. He later became a lawyer in cases related to pogroms and anti-Zionist law. During World War I, he moved to Vilnius, where he led the Lithuanian Zionist movement. In 1918, the representative of the Lithuanian delegation in its talks with the Ottoman government was aware of the fate of the Land of Israel.


Background to the photo: In 1919 he participated in the writing of the Lithuanian Constitution project with the guarantee of wide Jewish autonomy, became the head of the Lithuanian Jewish Council and with the establishment of the independent Lithuania became Deputy Foreign Minister, and participated in its delegation to the Versailles agreement in 1919. After a year signed a treaty with Lithuania The Soviet who ruled that Vilna belonged to her, and in June 1923 (after his term as member of the Second Siamese in February of that year) was appointed Minister of Jewish Affairs in the ninth Lithuanian government led by Ernestes Galvanauskas. Rosenbaum died in Tel Aviv in 1934. Buried in Trumpeldor Cemetery.
