Families Immigrants from Halep - A collection of photographs

A collection of c 50 photographs documenting immigrant families from Aleppo - Syria.

Many photographs of the Attia family on their way to Israel and after immigrating to Israel, photographs of other family members who immigrated from Aleppo to Eretz Israel, passport photos of Aleppo families.

With the United Nations decision on the partition of the Land of Israel, the Arabs launched a riot against Jews. The riots lasted a single day, and the intensity of the city was not as severe as elsewhere, probably due to the ethnic mosaic of the city's population. The synagogues in Aleppo were set on fire, but there was no injury to the Jews due to the fact that the Jews closed their homes for three days. The Jews of the city began to leave. About half of the immigrants immigrated to Eretz Israel, and the rest migrated to Aleppo communities around the world. However, restrictions imposed by the Syrian authorities on the departure did not allow all the city's Jews to leave. In 1976 the number of Jews in the city was estimated to be about 2,000.

Various sizes, very good condition.
