Two issues of the French weekly 'Aux Ecoutes' - cartoons against Hitler and the The Nazi regime. France, 1934

Two issues of the French weekly 'Aux Ecoutes' ["The Echo"], April and August 1934 - early cartoons against Hitler and the German Reich as Hitler rose to power.

The French weekly, Aux Écoutes, began in 1918 by Paul Lévy, former editor of L'Aurore. The newspaper ran an anti-German line, and was one of the first to eradicate the German Reich, even in its early years, as soon as Hitler came to power in 1933. The weekly cartoons published on a full cover page featured the best artists of the time: Gray, Pedro, Snap, Claude Graina , And others. Surprisingly, although the paper itself ran a nationalist line, it was pro-Israeli . The weekly ceased to appear in 1966.

[2] full sheets. Very good condition.
