Mitzraf HaAvodah – Zhitomir – Edition Printed in a Hassidic Printing House!
Mitzraf HaAvodah, "An argument of eighty years between two Gedolei Hador, one a Hassid and the other a Mitnaged … arguing over the Talmud and Poskim … and to this was added a letter by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi" (Hebrew).
Printed by the Hassid Rabbi Aryeh Leib Shapira, the grandson of the Rabbi of Slavita. "Brought to the printing house a second time by the rabbinical Meir Greenspan". Zhitomir, 1865.
Hassidic Edition
The book was printed for the first time in Konigsberg in 1858. Before us is the second and rare edition of the book which was printed in a Hassidic printing house in Zhitomir. Since then, the book has not been reprinted until 2014.
There are several variations between the first edition and the one before us. The introduction was omitted as well as the beginning of the glosses: so said the proofreader, so said the author and all the words in first person except for one (p. 23).
About the book, its content, structure and author, please see Hebrew description.
Good condition. New, impressive leather binding.
