Pair of Colorful Shanah Tovah Cards. USA, Early 20th Century
* Color Shanah Tovah poster with Jewish and American motifs. Star of David and shofar aside symbols of the American empire: steamships, a train, an industrial factory, and the Statue of Liberty. Announcement designed as a sailing ticket, comparing the path of life to a boat journey. 30x22 cm. Yiddish.
* Shanah Tovah card in black ink on bluish paper. With Jewish and American markers: A chanukiah, a star of David and a Torah Scroll - aside ships, a golden bridge and a flying Zeppelin. The card is designed as a bank check, drawn on the "Garden of Eden" bank, and comprises a deposit payment of 365 days of health and happiness. 8x21 cm. English and Hebrew.
