Gidolei Trumah—Lemberg 1809, with an interesting signature
Book by Rabbi Azarya ben Ephraim Figo, a work about Sefer HaTrumot by Rabbi Shmuel ben Rabbi Yitzhak HaSefardi. Second edition, Zolkva [cover like that of Venice], 1809. Cover with red ink, important endorsements from sages and tzaddikim of that generation, including Rabbi Meir of Brad, Rabbi Ephraim Margaliyot, and the Maggid of Kozhnitz, and more. In addition are names of those donating to the book before its printing, including many sages and Chassidim of the period: Rabbi Meir of Brad and Rabbi Ephraim Margaliyot (who gave the above endorsements), the Ketzot HaChoshen, the Chozeh of Lublin, the Rosh HaBarzel, the Maggid of Kozhnitz, and more. 4, [2], 11, 34, 66, 64, 42, 5-32, 19 pages. Seems likely to be missing 2 pages at the end. Small tears on the cover, tape in the last pages that damages the text, a few moth holes, stains, spine missing. Generally ok condition.
Cover has an especially long note of ownership testifying that the book belonged to Rabbi Sender Bometz of Lodz. The second page has an important signature from his son: “Father of Avraham Bometz in Lodz.” Son-in-law of the Admor Siftei Tzaddik of Pilz.
