Long time ago we bought a collection of Jewish pictures from the same Jewish artist. His name is Lazar Weisman (Weisman is pseudonym, real name is Paverman). He was living in a Lvov, POLAND, later in Ukraine. The pictures in this collection was made from 1927 to 1941.
A well known cartoonist Kolomyja from Lvov, who tragically died in Auschwitz in 1942. It was made on different paper including a paper from printed factory (he was working where?) or other side of maps in German language. In 1941 he was took to concentration camp and in 1942 was died.
On the market there are a lot of copies of the pictures of that author (because he is very popular artist). You can easy to see the difference: all copies was made with bright colors of water - based paints and it were glow under a black light (all modern paper are glow under a black light).
The picture is signed by author and dated.
SIZE: 154 x 230 mm.
TEST: This particular item passed very important test - it does not glow under the black lamp (all paper after 1945 glow under the black light) - please look at the images. Selling on consignment.

WIKIPEDIA: Kolomyia or Kolomyya, formerly known as Kolomea is a city located on the Prut River in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast (province), in western Ukraine. It is administratively incorporated as a town of oblast significance and serves as the administrative centre of the surrounding Kolomyia Raion (district), which it is administratively not a part of. The city rests approximately halfway between Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi, in the centre of the historical region of Pokuttya, with which it shares much of its history. The population is 61,210 (2016 est.). The city is a notable railroad hub, as well as an industrial centre (textiles, shoes, metallurgical plant, machine works, wood and paper industry). It is a centre of Hutsul culture. At the turn of the 20th century the city was the most populous city in Stanislawow voivodeship.
