The Hafla'ah Dynasty: Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua HaLevi Horowitz and his brother Rabbi David HaLevi Horowitz,  Signed on sefer that belonged to their father, Reb Zvi Hirsh Horowitz – 'Machane Levi'.

Mafteach HaYam, Offenbach, 1788 – rare copy of distinguished ownership that belonged to Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Horowitz, the Av Beis Din of Frankfurt, the son of the Hafla’ah and author of Machane Levi. With the signatures of his sons, Rabbi Yaakov Yehoshua HaLevi Ish Horowitz, Av Beis Din of Zalozitz and Rabbi David Heshel HaLevi Horowitz, AB"D of Floss and Fraunekirchen.

At the top of the title page is a handwritten notation: Belongs to my father the great rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Segal… on the left side is the signature of his son, Rabbi David – the signature is partially cut short.

Rabbi Yaakov HaLevi Horowitz, Av Beis Din of Zlozitz (c.1770-1842) was raised in the lap of his grandfather the Hafla’ah. Rabbi Efraim Zalman Margalios of Brody provided an enormous dowry for his daughter to marry Rabbi Yaakov, enabling him to continue his studies in Brody, and he served as the rabbi of Załoźce for a short while.

Rabbi David Yehoshua Heschel HaLevi Horowitz, Av Beis Din of Frauenkirche (d. 1825) was the son-in-law of Rabbi Elazar Kalir, author of Or Chadash, served as the Av Beis Din in Floss, Bavaria from 1802 and as Av Beis Din of Frauenkirchen from 1815.
