Letter from Rabbi Akiva Sofer, Av Beis Din of Pressburg - author of Daas Sofer, 1931
A nice handwritten and signed letter from Rabbi Akiva Sofer about Rabbi Avraham Shlomo Hirsch, the son-in-law of Rabbi Shlomo Sofer of Beregszász. The letter explains why Rabbi Hirsch should be supported, despite the debate over his position.
Rabbi Akiva Sofer (1878-1960), author of Daas Sofer, was the son of the Shevet Sofer and a grandson of the Ksav Sofer. Rabbi Akiva served as a rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Pressburg, succeeding his father in 1907. After the Holocaust Rabbi Akiva reestablished his yeshiva and community in Jerusalem and was a member of the Moetzet Gedolei Hatorah.
