Letter from Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert, on behalf of the grandson of the Holy Rebbe of Ziditchov.
An urgent appealing letter from Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam, Admor of Ratzfert and son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. On behalf of the “Grandson of the holy rabbi of Ziditchov” for assistance in immigrating to the Holy Land, in order to avoid military service “BECAUSE IT IS EVIL… THE SITUATION HERE IS TERRIBLE…”
The Admor Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam (1862-1944) was the son of the holy Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. Rabbi Shalom served as an admor in Ratzfert and led the Sanzer Chassidim in Hungary. He was renowned as a miracle worker and thousands of were aided by his blessings and prayers. He worked enthusiastically and with dedication to help his fellow Jews, until his murder by the Nazis in Birkenau. Among his descendants are the admorim of the Satmar and Bobov dynasties.
On his personal letterhead stationery. 23x15 cm. Good condition. Written by his assistant and signed by him, including mention of his father’s name.
