The Holy Shinover: Handwritten Letter from the illustrious Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam, Praising his Children. 1893
An amazing, exceptional and unique letter, handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam of Shinova, the firstborn son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. and renowned author of the Divrei Yechezkel.
The letter is regarding the issue of a Heter Aguna. The holy Shinover praises his sons and grandsons' and fully authorizes them to make a decision regarding the heter.
 “Baruch Hashem that I've been blessed with children and grandchildren who are learning Torah with the absolute hallachic truth.”

There is no doubt that this rare letter is one of the most significant and interesting letters ever written by the Shinover Rebbe.

Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam (1805-1899) was the firstborn son of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz. Thousands of Chassidim gathered around him, as well as other admorim, and he became known as the rebbe of the rebbes. The Maharsham called him “the wonder of the generation and protector of the generation.” His own father said of him, “the ways of the Shinever Rav are beyond our intelligence, because all his actions are lofty and holy and pure, for the sake of heaven.”

14 X 20.5 cm. Original stationery – restored on top for loss of paper. Handwritten, with his signature. Shinowa, 1893. Tears at the top of the page and margins, with two half-words missing. Fold marks along the length and width, with a few tears and tiny pieces missing. The tears have been restored and repaired with paper.
