Letter from
Rabbi Shmuel Meir Hacohen Hollander, the Av Beis Din of Chernowitz, on the customs of Sanz and Ropshitz, 1938
Rabbi Shmuel Meir Hacohen Hollander (1889-1965) was the Av Beis Din in Amsana and Chernowitz. He was a descendant of the prestigious Rappaport family and the Admor Rabbi Aharon of Belz told his Chassidim to have Rabbi Shmuel preside over the Pidyon Haben ceremony to redeem their firstborn sons.
