Rare letter from Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum, AB"D Volove and Nirbatur, father-in-law of the Satmar Rebbe "Berech Moshe". Mentioning his daughter, the future Rebbetzin.

A letter sent to the Av Beit Din of Jerusalem in honor of the new year, and requesting that he mention Rabbi Teitelbaum in his tefillot and at the holy sites, “that I merit to sit over the Torah constantly and in purity, without any hindrances and deterrents.” At the end of the letter Rabbi Teitelboim mentions himself and his family, including his daughter “Pessel Leah, for a blessing for her body and soul, to be sealed in the Book of Life” – this is the Rebbetzin of Satmar, the wife of the Admor, the Berech Moshe of Satmar.

Rabbi Aharon Teitelbaum of Volovoje (1881-1944) was the son of Rabbi Yaakov Yokel, and grandson of the author of Yismach Moshe, of Ujhel. In 1905 Rabbi Aharon’s father was appointed Av Beit Din in that city, and after his father’s death Rabbi Aharon was appointed rabbi of the community. When his brother Naftali died, Rabbi Aharon was also appointed as rabbi of Nirbatur. He rigourously opposed the Zionists and Agudath Israel.

Postcard. 10 X 15 cm. Good condition.
