Recommendation Letter by Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman, AB"D of Ponevezh. 1924
A recommendation for a bochur at Ponevezh yeshiva who wanted to move to Eretz Yisrael. Handwritten and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman Av Beis Din and teacher in Ponevezh.
Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Kahaneman (1888-1969) was known as the Ponevezh Rav. He was one of the giants of Torah education in the generation of the European destruction and afterward. He dedicated his life to spreading Torah and preserving every aspect of a holy life. Following the destruction of his world in Lithuania, he reestablished the yeshiva and its institutions in the yeshiva neighborhood of Bnei Brak and was the new Ponevezh yeshiva’s first Rosh Yeshiva.
