Ropshitz Dynasty. Rare and Historic Document - Oath against Blood Libel, Signed by the Admor Rabbi Avraham Simcha Horowitz of Baranov. 1903
The oath against the blood libel was made subsequent to the terrible attacks against Jews and the horrific pogrom in 1903 in Kishinev, which were sparked by vile anti-Semitic statements in the newspapers, accusing the Jews of murdering the Christian boy, Mikhail Rybachenko.
Admor Rabbi Avraham Simcha Horowitz (1846-1916) was the son of Rabbi Yisrael of Baranov, the son of Rabbi Eliezer of Dzhikov, the son of Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz. Rabbi Avraham journeyed to see the tzaddikim of his generation, especially the Divrei Chaim, who said of him that he had inherited the attributes of his great-grandfather, Rabbi Naftali of Ropshitz. Rabbi Avraham was appointed Av Beis Din in Baranov. In 1909 he moved to Eretz Yisrael and was welcomed by the rabbis of Jerusalem.
16 X 24 cm, with filing holes and a tear in the upper margin.
