Literature: Mme Martin believes the work was painted on Lhote's first visit to Venice, circa 1936.
Other Notes: The work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Raisonne of the artist being prepared by Mme. Dominique Bermann Martin, Paris, has kindly confirmed the work (issued in 2015 certificate NSP1551 has been lost).
